6) Chrysler 300
Designed in 2001, the car first made it off the drawing board and into the US market in 2004. It was Chrysler’s full-size luxury sedan and their first car with rear wheel drive in its category. Production of the station wagon variant of the 300 was stopped in 2011.
Standard equipment in the 300 includes a 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 engine and eight speed automatic transmission. Chrysler claims this combination will translate into a highway fuel economy of 30 mpg. Not all Chrysler patrons prioritize economy however, which is why the powerful 5.7 litre HEMI V8 engine with 363 horsepower is being offered as an option.
Another desirable optional is the all wheel drive system. ‘Sport mode’ tweaks the gear shift points and paddle response to make the car extra peppy. An 8.4 inch full-color touchscreen partners with the car’s 10 speaker 12 channel premium audio surround system, and satellite radio with 160 channels.
