3) Citroën C1

Citroën C1

Produced jointly by PSA Peugeot Citroën and Toyota, the C1 is mechanically identical to the Peugeot 108. The car is being offered in three and five-door hatchback variants. Creatively named variants of the C1 include the ‘Touch’, ‘Feel’, ‘Furio’ and ‘Flair’.

The standard 1.0 litre, three-cylinder inline engine produces 68 hp. It partners with a five-speed manual transmission to give the car a more than decent fuel economy of 56 mpg in the city. 0 to 60 mph is reached in 14.3 seconds. Top speed is 99 mph.

Electronic stability program, variable power assisted steering, an mp3 capable audio system and front lateral and curtain airbags are all standard features on the basic model. The C1 has received superlative safety and reliability ratings, and its worldwide sales have remained steady. From time to time the car is made available in special and limited edition versions for enthusiasts.
