8) Hennessey Venom GT Spyder
The Hennessey Venom GT is manufactured by Hennessey Performance Engineering in Texas. Some of the design elements of the car have evolved directly from the British supercar, Lotus Exige.
The Venom GT has a 7.0 litre V8 engine with forced induction, and produces 1,451 brake horse power. This awesome power transfers to the wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car has a programmable traction control system to handle the massive g-forces. An impressive 1,287 lbs-feet of torque takes the Venom GT from 0 to 60 mph in less than 2.4 seconds. The car has posted several speed records including the fastest accelerating production car in the world.
The Spyder is the Venom GT’s open top version. During tests at California’s Lemoore Naval Air Station in March 2016 the Venom GT Spyder recorded a top speed of 265.6 mph (427.4 km/h), creating a new world speed record for a street-legal open top car. The Spyder is currently the fastest production car on the planet, a record previously held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Vitesse.
