1) 2017 Tesla Model X
The new Model X can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, which can put most conventional sports cars to shame. It has AWD, 295 miles of range, 7 seats and plenty of storage space. When Tesla claims that this is the most capable SUV out there, they mean it.
The Model X’s floor-mounted battery gives it a lower center of gravity than nearly every combustion engine powered SUV. Without an engine, the front of the Model X is essentially a large trunk that doubles as a giant crumple zone. Falcon wing doors open with merely a foot of side clearance, and allow getting in and out without ducking to avoid the roof.
The Model X boasts the largest panoramic all-glass windshield of any production vehicle in its class. The vehicle’s active safety technologies and several other features are software-based and can be updated over the air.
