3) 2017 Porsche Cayenne
Manufactured since 2002 and currently in its second generation, the Cayenne is Porsche’s first SUV, and incorporates several features that are rarely seen in Porsche vehicles. It has a front-mounted engine instead of mid-mounted as in nearly all Porsche cars. It has a V6 instead of the usual flat-six that powers Porsche sports cars. It also has five doors instead of two. Although fully designed and engineered in-house by Porsche, the Cayenne has less in common with most Porsche cars than with SUVs from other auto makers.
At a starting US retail price of $59,600.00, the Cayenne comes with a 3.6-litre, 300 hp V6 gasoline engine with a top track speed of 142 mph. This combines with an 8-speed tiptronic auto transmission that adapts to driving styles for maximum fuel economy and minimum noise. Porsche Traction Management perfectly distributes the torque among the wheels. Luxurious interiors are enhanced with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) featuring navigation and infotainment.
