5) 2017 Lexus CT Hybrid
The 2017 CT hybrid is being offered in two variants, standard and sport. Retail prices start from $31,250 for the standard.
The CT hybrid has a 1.8 litre inline four cylinder engine with dual cam and intelligent CVVT. This engine comes in the hybrid with its trusty sidekick, the electric drive motor. The car’s electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT) sends power to the front wheels. Lexus claims a combined city fuel economy of 43 mpg for the CT hybrid, and claims it to be “the most fuel-efficient gas-powered luxury vehicle” in its class.
The car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 9.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 112 mph. It has an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.29.
The CT F SPORT version of the car features a driver-centric cockpit on the inside and sport styling on the outside. Drive mode select enables the driver to make the CT more responsive or efficient with a simple turn of a dial.
