Made in the US for the US, the ATS is Cadillac’s 4-door 5-seater luxury sedan. ATS stands for Allante Touring Sedan. Retail prices for the ATS start at $34,595 for the base model, with the 2.0 liter turbocharged inline four cylinder gasoline engine producing 272 hp.

Keyless entry is a standard feature, as is four-wheel ABS with Brembo performance brakes. Interiors feature driver and front passenger 6-way power adjustable seats, 5.7 inch color display driver information center, Bose premium surround sound audio system, power programmable door locks with lockout protection and steering wheel-mounted controls for audio, phone and cruise control. Safety features include airbags for frontal, knee, side and head curtain.

The ATS is available with all wheel drive and a multiple engine variants including a naturally aspirated 3.6 litre V6 gasoline engine that produces 321 horsepower.

9) 2017 Audi A5

The A5 is a series of compact cars by Audi. Variants also include hatchbacks. The A5 versions being offered by Audi in the US during model year 2017 include the A5 sport coupe and the cabriolet. Retail prices for the sport coupe start from $41,200.

The car is packed with features including keyless start, stop and entry, and 10-way power adjustable heated front seats with driver seat memory. The driver also gets a multifunction sport steering wheel and cruise control with coast, resume and accelerate options.

The A5 coupe’s interior features a panoramic tilting sunroof, ambient interior LED lighting and a Bang and Olufsen 14-speaker surround sound system. Safety features consist of ABS with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist, Electronic stability control with traction control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The 2.0 TFSI engine is the standard equipment. Optional extras include Audi’s Quattro AWD system with 6 speed manual transmission, and several engine variants.

Volvo went into business with the objective of building cars that were strong enough to handle the punishing Swedish roads. Volvo’s entry-level luxury car is now in its second gen. The car is a favorite of several police forces in EU, and is manufactured according to their specifications for police use. These changes include bigger engines, stronger clutches and more robust suspension systems.

The 2017 civilian S60 will mark the car’s third generation. It will feature the best in Swedish automotive innovation. The car’s features include gearshift paddles along the steering wheel for faster and more precise manual shifting.

Drivers will choose from three distinct driving modes at the touch of a button. Driving modes adjust the car’s performance according to the driving style and road conditions. Adaptive cruise control will be another standard feature, in addition to a suite of safety enhancements, sensors and intelligent driver aides.

7) 2017 Acura ILX

The ILX is Honda’s small luxury car marketed under Honda’s premium brand Acura as a compact sports sedan. The ILX inherits all the essential features of a Honda Civic. ILX retail prices in the US start from $27,990.

The standard ILX has a 2.4 litre gasoline direct injection, four cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC engine producing 201 hp @ 6800 rpm and 180 lb-ft of torque @ 3800 rpm. This powerpack combines with an 8 speed, dual clutch transmission (DCT) and drive by wire throttle control to provide a fuel economy of 25 mpg in the city. The car is a FWD.

Safety features include ABS with EBD and brake assist. At 1,403 kg the car is light on its feet. All ILX variants feature sport seats, including an 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat. Keyless access and ignition are standard on all variants. Cruise control buttons are on the wheel. The car also has ambient interior lighting.

6) 2017 Infiniti Q60

The Q series succeeds Infiniti’s G series and retails in the US starting from $38,950. The basic Q60 comes with a turbocharged 2.0 litre, 16 valve, DOHC inline four cylinder engine with hydraulic VVT control system, producing 208 hp.

The Q60 Red Sport 400 AWD represents the top end of the series, and comes equipped with a 3.0 litre twin turbo V6, 24-valve engine capable of producing 400 hp. The basic Q60 also has an electronically controlled 7-speed automatic transmission with Adaptive Shift Control (ASC). The sport 400 has a modified version of the same box. The standard Q60 is RWD while the sport 400 is an AWD.

Other features of the standard Q60 consist of LED headlights and taillights and 8-way power seats for driver and front passenger.

The sport 400 has an independent, double-wishbone front suspension with continuously variable electronically controlled shock absorbers.

5) 2017 Lexus CT Hybrid

The 2017 CT hybrid is being offered in two variants, standard and sport. Retail prices start from $31,250 for the standard.

The CT hybrid has a 1.8 litre inline four cylinder engine with dual cam and intelligent CVVT. This engine comes in the hybrid with its trusty sidekick, the electric drive motor. The car’s electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT) sends power to the front wheels. Lexus claims a combined city fuel economy of 43 mpg for the CT hybrid, and claims it to be “the most fuel-efficient gas-powered luxury vehicle” in its class.

The car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 9.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 112 mph. It has an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.29.

The CT F SPORT version of the car features a driver-centric cockpit on the inside and sport styling on the outside. Drive mode select enables the driver to make the CT more responsive or efficient with a simple turn of a dial.

4) 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The C-Class remained the smallest category of cars produced by Mercedes-Benz till the introduction of the A-Class in 1997. The C-Class comprised entry level luxury cars in several variants. Retail prices in the US for the Mercedes-Benz 2017 C-Class Sedan start from $39,500.

The C300 is powered by a twin turbocharged 4-cylinder direct injection engine which produces 241 hp. This powerpack strives to achieve a balance between quick response and fuel economy. Another performance feature of the car is its 4-wheel multilink suspension with sport or comfort tuning and selective damping. Pressurized air used in the suspension system keeps the car balanced and level through corners and while driving on challenging roads.

An available all-wheel drive system continually sends the engine’s torque to the wheels with maximum traction. This comes in handy on slippery roads and can be equally useful during everyday driving.

3) 2017 BMW 3-Series

The 3-Series is BMW’s entry level segment in the luxury car market. Produced since 1975, the 3-series has spawned six generations of compact performance cars. Currently BMW offers the 3-series cars in three variants, sedan, sports wagon and gran turismo (aka 5-door fastback). Starting price for the sports sedan is $33,450.

The cars come with a choice of several engine variants from turbodiesel to hybrid. When buying a BMW, there is also the standard choice between RWD and AWD, and manual or automatic transmission. BMW likes to design cars with an optimal 50/50 weight distribution, or as close to it as possible. The result is excellent handling and cornering. The 3-series are no exception to that rule.

Other BMW features remain standard too, including the front engine, rear wheel drive, five seats, four doors, great driving ergonomics, comfortable interiors and sporty exteriors. The seventh generation 3-series are due in 2018.

2) 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia

The 2017 Giulia is meant to be as sporty as it is comfortable. US retail prices for the base model of the car start from $37,995.

The Giulia is a 4-door compact luxury car with an all-aluminum, 2.0 litre direct inject inline four, turbocharged engine producing 280 hp. Thanks to this light and reasonably powerful engine, the car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 149 mph.

The 8 speed automatic transmission is standard. Drivetrain options available for buyers include all wheel drive and rear wheel drive. The car’s rigid body is a high-strength steel construction with lightweight aluminum components and a carbon fiber drive shaft. The latter feature is unique in the car’s class.

Alfa Romeo’s unique central display rotary controller and a 6.5 inch color multifunctional widescreen display are just two of the desirable interior features.

1) 2017 Audi A4

Audi is a subsidiary of VW and the A4 has been their compact executive car since 1994. It is being offered in sedan and wagon variants since the convertible variant was moved to a different class. US retail prices start from $34,900.

The A4 packs a 2.0 TFSI engine and is front wheel driven. Electronic torque vectoring is standard and Audi’s Quattro all wheel drive system comes as optional with the A4.

The car features the largest digital instrument cluster in its class. Audi virtual cockpit is a 12.3 inch digital display that transitions from a classic instrument cluster mode to a panoramic infotainment mode. Standard Apple CarPlay compatibility and Android auto integration are built-in.

An available head-up display projects a readout of the car’s speed, navigation and assistance systems directly onto the windshield. Another optional extra is the Bang & Olufsen 3D Advanced Sound System with multidimensional acoustics and 19 speakers.
