Hyundai’s innovative luxury sedan retails in the US at a starting price tag of $68,100. The G90 is available with a 5.0 litre, dual CVVT gasoline direct injection V8 engine, producing 420 hp @ 6,000 rpm. Despite the high power, it still achieves a fuel economy of 16 mph with RWD while driving in the city. The 8-speed transmission comes with sports car style paddle shifters on the wheel. AWD is optional.

Safety features consist of ABS with EBD, stability control with brake assist, nine airbags, and a pre-collision warning system. Driving convenience is enhanced by smart cruise control with stop / start and a heads-up display (HUD). The cabin features wireless device charging. The G90’s auto leveling 3D LED headlights keep the beams parallel to the road surface in all conditions. Owing to their hollow design, 19-inch alloy wheels absorb sounds and eliminate road noises. Not meant to be understated, the car has puddle lamps fitted in the side mirrors, which project the Genesis logo prominently on the tarmac.

Lincoln is the luxury offshoot of Ford and has been producing great cars since 1939. The 2017 Continental is available with a 3.7 litre Ti-VCT, gasoline direct injection V6 engine, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters. It produces 305 hp of ample power @ 6,500 rpm and 280 lb-ft of max torque @ 4,000 rpm

City fuel economy is 17 mpg with FWD and 16 mpg with AWD. The car is designed to transport five passengers in consummate luxury. All of the car’s doors are fitted with small motors for soft closing and opening. The interiors have been designed to be aesthetic and purposeful, using materials befitting a Continental.

A twin-panel panoramic power sun roof is a highly desirable extra. Adaptive HID headlight beams swivel to match the steering angle. The steering wheel has controls for the configurable digital display. Full LED headlights are available. Keyless entry and push button start are standard features.

8) Cadillac CT6

CT6 is short for Cadillac Touring 6. The 2017 CT6 is the most advanced and luxurious car produced by Cadillac so far. It is available with a turbocharged GDI 2.0 litre inline four-cylinder engine producing 265 hp. The bigger engine option is a 3.6 litre gasoline V6 producing 335 hp. There is also a choice between RWD and AWD drivetrains.

The interior of the car has been meticulously crafted. The seats feature unique contours for cushioning and support. Designed as a touring car, the CT6 also offers ample head and leg space for all occupants. A Bose Panaray 34-speaker, premium car audio system is available. Also optional is the OnStar guidance plan with automatic crash response, stolen vehicle assistance, turn-by-turn navigation and advanced diagnostics.

The car has concierge lighting, which means proximity to the passive entry key fob after dark activates soft lighting around the vehicle to improve visibility. Safety features include an assortment of radar, camera and ultrasonic sensors to detect potential hazards.

7) Jaguar XJ

Base prices for the US models of the 2017 XJ start at $74,400. The LWB variant is available with AWD, featuring a 340 hp, 3.0 litre supercharged V6 engine giving the car a top speed of 121 mph. 0 to 60 mph can be achieved in 5.7 seconds with RWD. The car’s recessed drive selector knob replaces the shift lever, and rises after activating the push-button start.

Innovations adding to the XJ’s comfort and convenience include full LED headlamps with adaptive beams, 14/14-way adjustable front seats with three position memory, four-zone automatic climate control, and a premium surround sound system with 20 speakers.

The XJ’s cabin is luxurious and advanced. All seats feature heating and cooling. The rear portion can be further improved with individual, stowable 10.2-inch HD screens. A panoramic, heat-reflective tinted glass roof provides privacy while letting natural light in. Jaguar also lets buyers customize their XJs with a choice of interior materials and finishes.

The LS is the flagship car of Toyota’s luxury vehicle division, Lexus. The 2017 LS 460 RWD is powered by a 4.6 litre, V8 engine with dual VVT, pumping out 386 hp and 367 lb-ft of torque. Power transmits to the rear wheels via an 8-speed electronic transmission with intelligence. The powerful engine propels the LS from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds. The car has a top track speed of 130 mph.

The LS is available with variable gear ratio steering and height-adjustable adaptive variable air suspension with electronic damping. The car’s welded unibody construction makes it rigid and responsive. Interior comforts include the optional four-zone climate control, which also adjusts the temperature of each individual seat. The LS is available in an F Sport edition with bolstered sport seats and a distinctive command center. Lexus also offers other limited editions of the LS for maximum exclusivity.

5) BMW 7-Series

BMW’s full-size luxury sedan is packed with innovations. The M760i has been designed to be an opulent ride as well as a high-performance sports car. It packs a V12 twin turbo engine that delivers 601 hp and takes the car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

Inside, the car’s gesture control system allows the driver to toggle entertainment functions with a command tablet. Drivers can remotely park using the car’s display key. The rear of the cabin features executive lounge seating with immense legroom and seats with massagers. Rear passengers get the comforts of footrests, plush floor mats and 10″ entertainment screens that support streaming mobile content using the car’s Wi-Fi hotspot. There is a wireless charging pocket as well. A panoramic sky lounge LED roof adds to the ambience.

The 7-Series sedan is also being offered in plug-in hybrid models. Series prices in the US start from $81,500.

4) McLaren P1

McLaren set out to create the ultimate driver’s car and realized that vision in the P1. Evolved from a legacy of motor racing and designed for performance, the P1’s only external styling is its aerodynamics. The car’s cabin is a cockpit and the roof has an air intake to feed the engine.

The P1’s racing seats were specially designed for the car with ultra lightweight carbon fibre shells. The seat backs are locked at a 28-degree angle for optimum comfort and performance. The interior is mostly carbon fibre. Three TFT screens with four switchable modes are available to customize and display the instrumentation.

P1 is the first hybrid luxury car and one of the most technologically advanced ever. Among other things, the car features an Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) to sharpen the throttle response. Stability at high speeds is enhanced by the P1’s active aerodynamics and race active chassis control (RCC).

The 2017 Aventador S Coupe features a supercar spec 6.5 litre V12 producing 729 hp and 507 lb-ft of max torque. This massive power is transmitted to Lamborghini’s electronically controlled all-wheel drive system with rear mechanical self-locking differential via a 7-speed gearbox with independent shifting rods. All this technology translates into a 0 to 60 mph time of 2.9 seconds, and a top speed of 217 mph.

The Aventador’s monocoque and carbon fibre body with an electronically operated spoiler and exceptional aerodynamics also give it great handling and stability. The car’s handling is further managed by electronic stability control with integrated ABS and TCS. The suspension incorporates magneto-rheological shock absorbers with pushrod system.

Lamborghini Active Vehicle Dynamics (LDVA) is a composite of active technologies to manage vehicle handling and performance. Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) involves all four wheels to turn the car. LDS is speed-sensitive, and designed to provide maximum cornering performance.

The Panamera 4S is powered by a twin turbo V6 engine which has been made lighter and more compact. Even the turbos have been repositioned for the fastest response. The engine is equipped with Porsche’s VarioCam Plus technology and complemented by an 8-speed dual clutch gearbox that enables precise shifts in milliseconds. The powertrain generates 330 hp to propel the Panamera from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds with the sport chrono transmission.

Porsche Traction Management (PTM) is an all-wheel drive system with electronic and map-controlled multi-plate clutch for the best distribution of power depending on driving conditions. The system constantly adapts to situations such as long straights, sharp corners and low grip road conditions. The car’s chassis features adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology and and rear-axle steering. Dynamic chassis control systems monitor and synchronize all chassis systems in all three spatial dimensions. The Panamera retails in the US starting from $85,000.

MB’s S-Class sedan has been known to be elegant, advanced and an icon of luxury. For 2017 MB has decided to offer the car with a choice of engines including turbocharged V12s and V8s, as well as a turbo V6 for the hybrid variant. Many of these partner with MB’s 9-speed automatic transmission for exceptional performance. In addition are the AMG engine and transmission options, available with the S-Class.
